Dr Craig Sheridan

Musculoskeletal, Sport and Exercise Medicine Specialist

Profile

Dr Craig Sheridan is a dedicated clinician who brings a thoughtful and holistic approach to musculoskeletal and sports medicine. With extensive experience spanning the NHS, the military and professional sport, he blends rigorous clinical training with a deep understanding of human performance, resilience and recovery. Craig believes that effective care involves far more than treating symptoms—it requires seeing the whole person, their goals, and the demands of their everyday life.

His career has taken him from high-performance sporting environments to front-line military rehabilitation centres, where he has supported professional footballers, elite rowers, national teams and service personnel recovering from complex injuries. Craig has worked regularly with Ipswich Town Football Club, The English Football Association, Henley Royal Regatta and the Island Games, as well as holding a substantive consultant post within the military rehabilitation centres in Colchester and Honington. These experiences have shaped his belief that everyone—whether an athlete, a recruit or an individual managing chronic pain—deserves precise diagnosis, clear guidance and tailored, compassionate care.

Craig completed his medical degree at Leicester-Warwick Medical School before earning a master’s degree with distinction from Queen Mary University of London. His specialist training in Sport & Exercise Medicine took place across the East of England, including Cambridge University Hospitals, Ipswich Hospital and the Ministry of Defence’s state-of-the-art Defence and Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall. These environments deepened his interest in injury prevention, optimal rehabilitation and the science behind movement and performance.

A particular area of passion for Craig is musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he uses to deliver accurate bedside diagnosis and targeted ultrasound-guided injections. This precise approach allows him to pinpoint pain generators in complex musculoskeletal presentations and refine treatment to what each patient truly needs. He is especially skilled in assessing acute and chronic tendon problems, bone stress injuries, early arthritis, and persistent joint or soft-tissue pain in both active individuals and those recovering from occupational or military strain.

Above all, Craig’s practice is grounded in partnership. He works closely with patients to build understanding, confidence and a clear route forward—whether that is returning to sport, navigating a demanding physical role at work or simply regaining day-to-day comfort. His goal is to help people move better, feel stronger and restore trust in their bodies.
